# Affiliate Disclosure

*Last updated: 22 October 2026*

**In short:** Luxury Bangladesh is free to use and is paid for by affiliate commission. When you click a booking button on our site and then book with one of our partners, we usually earn a commission from that partner. You pay the same price as you would if you went to the partner directly. Commission never decides which hotels we list, the order they appear in or the scores we give them.

## What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link tells a booking site that you arrived from us. If you go on to book, the booking site pays us a share of its own revenue from that booking. This is called a commission. It comes from the partner, not from you.

## Who pays us

Our booking buttons can take you to:

- **Booking.com**

- **Agoda**

- **Expedia and Hotels.com**

- **Trip.com**

- **The hotel's official website.** These links are normally unpaid. We include them because booking direct is sometimes the best option for you. If we ever have a paid arrangement with a hotel directly, we will label those links.

Which buttons appear on a hotel page depends on where that hotel is listed. When we add or drop a partner, we update this page.

## How our links work

Every booking button on our site goes through a short redirect on our own domain, an address beginning luxurybangladesh.com/go/, before it takes you to the partner. This lets us count clicks and pass the partner a reference so that it can credit the booking to us.

Our click log records:

- the hotel, the partner, which button you used and the page you came from;

- your country, as detected by our hosting provider;

- your type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop);

- the stay dates and number of guests carried in the booking link.

It does not include your name, email address or IP address. Our [privacy policy](/privacy-policy/) has the details.

If the partner you choose does not list the hotel, the button may take you to our main partner's page for that hotel, or to its search results, instead. Once you are on a partner's website, its own terms, privacy policy and cookies apply. Your booking is a contract between you and the partner or the hotel, not with Luxury Bangladesh.

## What it costs you

Nothing extra. We do not add booking fees or mark-ups, and we never see or store your payment details. Prices are set by the partner or the hotel.

## Prices on our pages are indicative

Where we show a "from" price, it is an indicative typical nightly rate for a standard room, with the date we checked it. Live prices depend on your dates, availability, currency, taxes and service charges, and they can change at any time. Always confirm the final price, including taxes, on the partner's site before you book. Prices converted into other currencies use exchange rates that we update periodically, so they are approximate.

## What commission cannot buy

- **Rankings and scores.** Commission plays no part in which hotels we list, their order, our editor scores or our review analysis. Our methods are published in [how we rate hotels](/how-we-rate/) and our [review methodology](/review-methodology/).

- **Coverage.** No hotel can pay to be listed, to be scored higher, or to have reviews removed or flagged.

- **Partner order.** On a hotel page, the first booking button is our default partner, and other partners that list the hotel appear alongside it so you can compare prices. We do not hide a partner because it pays us less.

We do not currently sell sponsored placements or advertising. If we ever do, they will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Ad" and kept separate from our editorial rankings.

## How we label paid links

- A short note next to booking buttons and prices tells you that we earn a commission if you book through those links.

- In our code, we mark partner links as sponsored, so search engines know they are paid links.

- This page is linked from the footer of every page on the site.

## Why we disclose this way

We follow the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255, updated on 29 June 2023). They require a material connection, such as earning commission, to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and the FTC's guidance says the closer the disclosure is to the recommendation, the better.

We also follow UK advertising rules. The CAP Code requires marketing to be obviously identifiable as such, and the ASA and CAP advice on online affiliate marketing says disclosure should be clear and should come before you engage with the content, not hidden at the bottom of a page.

These rules do not apply in every country our readers come from, but we think every reader deserves the same openness.

## Questions

If you have a question about this disclosure, or think a link is not labelled clearly, please [contact us](/contact/). You can read more about who we are on our [about page](/about/) and in our [editorial policy](/editorial-policy/).
