## Overview

InterContinental Dhaka is at 1 Minto Road in Ramna, in central Dhaka rather than the Gulshan diplomatic area; Ramna Park is about 1.4 km away. It opened in 1966 as the Hotel Inter-Continental Dacca, the first international five-star hotel in what is now Bangladesh, ran as the Sheraton from 1983 and then as the Ruposhi Bangla, and reopened as InterContinental Dhaka on 19 December 2018 after a long renovation.

The hotel has 226 rooms, including Club rooms, and five restaurants and bars such as Elements, Café Social, the Amber Room and the Aqua Deck beside the outdoor pool. It also has a HARNN Heritage Spa, a fitness centre, meeting rooms and on-site parking, which suits business travellers with meetings in the centre and visitors planning museum and Old Dhaka days.
