Grand Sultan Tea Resort & Golf sits among tea gardens on Bhanugach Road at Sreemangal, the tea capital of Bangladesh, about four hours by road from Dhaka. Its 134 rooms and suites come in eight categories: King, Queen and Triple Deluxe rooms of 36 m², Executive Suites of 53 m², Royal Suites of 86 and 108 m² and a 162 m² two-bedroom Presidential Suite, with views over the gardens, a lake or the pool. The resort calls itself five-star; Agoda, Hotels.com and Travelocity list it as 5-star, Trip.com as 4-star, and Booking.com shows no star class.
Recreation includes a 9-hole golf course, tennis, badminton and basketball courts, a billiards room, a game centre and a 44-seat cinema, with a children’s play zone and two children’s pools beside the large temperature-controlled pool and jacuzzi. Meals are served at Fowara Dine (all day), Oronno Bilash (a hilltop barbecue restaurant), Shahi Dine (fine dining), Cafe Mongal and the Pool Deck Cafe, and the Rashni Mahal banquet hall takes up to 500 guests. The resort’s website lists the Roopnogori spa as temporarily out of service.
