Template — have this policy reviewed by a qualified adviser before relying on it, and add your legal entity name and address.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our contact form or newsletter sign-up we collect your name, email address and message.
- Usage information. Like most websites, we record basic technical information such as pages visited, the approximate country you visit from (derived from your IP address), your device type and the page that referred you. We use this to understand which content is useful and to keep the site secure.
- Booking-link clicks. When you click a link to a booking partner, we record that the click happened, the partner, the travel dates and party size you entered, and the page you clicked from. We do not receive your booking or payment details from partners.
- Preferences. We store your chosen currency in a cookie and your recent searches and travel dates in your browser so they are remembered as you browse.
How we use information
- to answer your messages and send the newsletter you asked for;
- to measure and improve the site and to understand which partners our readers use;
- to protect the site against abuse (for example rate-limiting form submissions).
We do not sell your personal information.
Booking partners and third parties
When you follow a link to a booking partner, that partner's own privacy policy applies to anything you do on their site. Partners may use cookies to attribute your booking to us.
Some pages can display a Google Map when you choose to load it. Google Maps features are provided by Google under the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Our site runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical request data to deliver and protect the site.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies needed for the site to work (for example to remember your currency). If you enable analytics or advertising tools in future, this section must list them and, where required, ask for consent first.
How long we keep information
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for up to 24 months afterwards. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Aggregated statistics may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to its use. To make a request, contact us.
