Mermaid Beach Resort is on Pechar Dwip beside the beach just off the Cox's Bazar–Teknaf Marine Drive near Himchari, about 8 km from the town beaches on Trip.com's figures. Wikipedia describes it as an integrated resort with two restaurants, one a café for Italian food and the other serving world cuisine; two sister properties, Mermaid Beach House Collection and Mermaid Eco Resort, are about a kilometre away.
Trip.com counts 30 guest rooms with balconies. The resort's website describes thatched-roof villas and bungalows built with pressed bamboo walls and reclaimed teak, some with private jacuzzis and open verandas; a one-bedroom garden bungalow for two, air-conditioned, starts at BDT 26,000 a night including 10% service charge and 15% VAT. Trip.com also lists an outdoor pool, a private beach, a spa, a 24-hour fitness centre, a game room and 24-hour room service. It suits couples and small groups who prefer a quiet, low-rise resort south of town to a hotel-zone tower.
